In celebration of what would have been Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday in April 2026, the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust (QECT) proudly presents the 100 Young Leaders Awards—a landmark programme designed to honor 100 outstanding young changemakers from across the Commonwealth. Inspired by the Queen’s Young Leaders legacy, the initiative recognizes individuals leading impactful social ventures in five key domains: education and employability, environment, food and agriculture, health, and inclusion. It aims to elevate these young leaders’ profiles on the global stage, empowering them to scale up their social impact within their communities and beyond.
Eligibility
Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 at the time of application (i.e., born between April 1990 and April 2008), hold citizenship or permanent residency in at least one of the 56 Commonwealth countries, and be the founder, co-founder, or occupy a key leadership role in a social impact initiative. The initiative itself must demonstrate measurable community or global impact over at least 12 months, operate with transparency, legality, and in alignment with QECT’s values, and the application must be submitted in English.

Awardees gain a multifaceted package designed to amplify their leadership journey: they receive formal recognition through an official awards ceremony, the opportunity to apply for a microgrant to help scale their projects or organizations, and tailored capacity-building support and mentorship to strengthen both leadership and organizational growth.
