Mission Statement

This campaign aims to raise USD 2,923 to build a safe, durable home, install clean water and sanitation facilities, and support urgent health and educational needs for Komoli Rani’s family in Bancha Nagar, Laxmipur Sadar Upazila. With your help, we will provide them with safety, dignity, and hope for a better future.

The Human Case

Komoli Rani lives in Bancha Nagar, Ward No. 2, Laxmipur Sadar Upazila, with her bedridden husband and their daughter. Their home is structurally unsound, offering little protection from harsh weather. The family lacks access to clean water and proper sanitation, posing significant health risks. Komoli’s husband’s chronic illness prevents him from working, leaving the family dependent on her irregular income, which is insufficient to cover basic needs like food, medical care, or school supplies for their daughter.

Komoli struggles to keep her daughter in school due to financial constraints, and the family’s living conditions exacerbate their health challenges. “I worry every day about our health, my daughter’s education, and whether our home will hold up through the next storm,” Komoli shares.

Context & Urgency

Bancha Nagar, located in the coastal Lakshmipur District, faces systemic challenges including poverty, limited infrastructure, and inadequate access to clean water and sanitation. According to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (2023), only 68% of rural households in Lakshmipur have access to improved sanitation, and 22% rely on contaminated water sources. Families like Komoli’s, with a chronically ill member, are particularly vulnerable, facing barriers to economic stability and social safety nets.

The urgency is clear: without a stable home, clean water, and sanitation, Komoli’s family remains at risk of illness, insecurity, and deepening poverty. Immediate intervention is critical to break this cycle.
