King’s College London is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a Wellcome Trust-funded study focused on the lived experiences and support needs of minoritised ethnic people with multiple long-term conditions. The project aims to transform healthcare responses through interdisciplinary research, combining social science and biomedical perspectives. The role involves collecting qualitative data, engaging with the community, and collaborating with healthcare providers and policymakers across Manchester, London, and Coventry. The post holder will work within the Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, contributing to high-impact publications and innovative research methodologies.

Eligibility

Candidates must hold a PhD (or be near completion) in a relevant social science discipline and demonstrate strong experience in qualitative research, including ethics, interviewing, and NVivo analysis. Essential skills include community engagement with minoritised groups, academic writing, and organizational abilities. Desirable qualifications include knowledge of participatory research methods and intersectionality-informed approaches. Applicants without a completed PhD may be considered for Research Assistant positions, with a potential promotion to Research Associate upon PhD confirmation of their PhD.

  • Salary range of £44,355–£46,671, inclusive of London Weighting Allowance.
