The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), is inviting young people from around the world to participate in the Outer Space Security Conference 2025 Youth Video Competition. This initiative recognizes the need to amplify youth perspectives in the rapidly evolving conversation around space security, peaceful uses of outer space, and multilateral cooperation. Selected participants will have their videos showcased at the prestigious Outer Space Security Conference in Geneva and be featured in global advocacy campaigns. The competition aims to encourage fresh ideas and creative reflections on how space can be protected as a common good for all humanity.
Eligibility
The competition is open to individuals aged 18 to 35 from any country. Participants must submit an original video that reflects their personal or professional views on outer space security, the role of multilateralism, and how youth can contribute to preserving space for peaceful purposes. Submissions can be from individuals or teams, but all members must fall within the required age range. Fluency in English is preferred, as selected videos will be presented to an international audience.

How to Apply
Participants must submit their video through the official Airtable submission form. The video should not exceed 3 minutes in length and must be uploaded to a publicly accessible platform (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo), with the link included in the form. Applicants should ensure their content is original, thoughtful, and aligned with the themes of outer space security, disarmament, and youth engagement.. Late or incomplete entries will not be considered.
